Bahá'í Summer School in Hungary 2025
Together for a better world – How can I contribute to building a vibrant community?
We cordially invite you to this year’s Summer School in Hungary, which will take place between 28 July and 2 August 2025.
The Summer School plays a special role in the life of our community, and it also provides a wonderful opportunity to invite friends of the Faith. Its main purpose is to foster our spiritual and intellectual development, to strengthen our bonds of fellowship, and to experience sacred moments of reflection in the Holy Writings.
The detailed programme will be shared with you later, but there will be devotionals, small talks, group discussions, creative activities, sports, children and junior youth activities. The Summer School Task Force would also like to ask you to indicate on the registration form which activities you would like to assist with.

LOCATION:
The main venue of the Summer School will be the Zöld Sziget Szabadidő Központ (Green Island Leisure Centre) in Taksony which is approx. 20 kms south of Budapest, and located in a peaceful green area on the banks of the Danube. The site features a large covered outdoor hall, with wind protection if necessary, and also an air-conditioned indoor hall in case of heat. In addition, the main building has 2 smaller air-conditioned rooms, a dining room, a conservatory and two terraces. There are 2 small covered areas and a swimming pool on site. A sauna and a jacuzzi are also available at a cost of 20000 HUF/hour. There are plenty of free parking spaces on the street. Pets are allowed.
Within a 10-15 minute walk from the Green Island Leisure Centre there are confectionery and ice cream places, a few grocery stores, a bakery, and grocery shop, as well as the Rengő Bistro, which, contrary to its name, is more of a restaurant. ACCOMMODATION:
Room reservations are valid for the full period of the School, that is 5 nights. Registration is essential to attend the lectures and order meals, even if you do not use the accommodation booked by the community.
There are 14, 6-bed chalets on site. The ground floor is air-conditioned, with 2 single beds, a wardrobe, a small kitchen corner with a microwave, a fridge, a sink, a table, and chairs. There is also a shower with a toilet here. In the attic, which is without air conditioning, there are two cabins without doors with 2-2 beds. Due to space constraints 2 people would be able to sleep comfortably there. The chalets can be rented out by booking two beds downstairs, with or without occupying the attic space. There are mosquito nets on all windows.
The rest of the accommodation has been booked 10 minutes walk away at the Rengő Panzió (Guesthouse), where there are 20 places available for 5 nights in 10 air-conditioned (non-dividable) double rooms. In addition there are 8 places available, but only for 4 nights (28.07.-01.08.) in 2 rooms with 2+2 double beds. The guesthouse charges per room, so if only one person wants to book the room, they have to pay the full room price.
Other accommodation options: near Taksony there are also accommodation facilities in Dunavarsány in the Patkó Panzió and in Dunaharaszti in the Bacchus Panzió, where you need to book your accommodation by yourself!
PRICES OF ROOMS:
Zöld Sziget Szabadidő Központ (Leisure Centre) in chalets:
on the ground floor 2-bed room for 5 nights: 100000 HUF (50000 HUF/person)
in the attic for 5 nights per bed: 35000 HUF/person
A bathroom with a toilet is only available on the ground floor.The given prices do not include the tourist tax, which is 300 HUF/person/night and is only payable by persons over 18 years of age. In the chalets, accommodation is free of charge for children aged 0-2 years.
Rengő Panzió (non-dividable) double rooms.:
Double room for 2 people for 5 nights: 126000 HUF
Rooms available between 28. 07. – 01.08. :
Room for 4 people (2 separate sleeping areas, 1 common bathroom) for 4 nights: 144000 HUF
Room for 4 people (1 sleeping area, own bathroom) for 4 nights: 126000 HUF
The prices include the tourist tax.
There is no discount in the Guesthouse.
We are able to reserve accommodation on a first-come, first-served basis, so please register as soon as possible using the link below to ensure that we can allocate the place you require.
CATERING:
At the Zöld Sziget Szabadidő Központ groups are served menu-like meals. This menu is also available to guests staying at the Guesthouse, provided they indicate their preference at the time of registration. There is a choice between a traditional and a vegetarian menu, and a vegan menu can be provided if at least 8 people request it.
PRICES:
buffet breakfast with coffee: 2690 HUF/person/day
menu-like lunch (soup + main course) fresh salad, fruits: 2840 HUF/person/day
hot dinner, fresh salad: 2340 HUF/person/day
Total: 7870 HUF/person/day
PAYMENT:
Deadline for the 1st advance payment: 24 February 2025 Amount: 25000 HUF /person
Deadline for the 2nd advance payment: 10 April 2025 Amount: 25000 HUF /person
Deadline for payment of the remaining amount: 30 June 2025

If the deposit is not received by the deadline, the registration will become invalid.
